Hotspot and Bottleneck Analysis in Oracle Coherence
Would you like your Coherence clusters to perform well in production? We all know the cluster needs enough resources in terms of memory, CPU and network bandwidth. These requirements are well understood. So why should you care about hotspots or bottlenecks? These issues are harder to fix because adding more resources is rarely the answer. Everett Williams, SL’s Senior Director of Technology, will show how SL Corp’s RTView Oracle Coherence Monitor can help you literally “see” a hotspot. In this practical session, Everett will discuss Coherence’s service architecture and how the service MBean data can be used to find latency, queuing and contention in Coherence – conditions that can degrade performance and prevent your cluster workload from scaling. He will then discuss typical causes of poor performance and possible solutions. |
